Monday funday

So was looking at Pinterest and was looking at Japanese Knot bags and so decided this morning that I chad to make some.  I have made some in the past and even have a couple up on my etsy page but the are more boxy, wanted to try with some that are rounder.  First I had to make a pattern and found one on the internet but had to then make it bigger.  Then sadly I cut my fabric and whatnot and started sewing only to get half way through and discovered I sewed wrong pieces together.  :(

And as you can see I sewed a piece of the lining on the outside BOO!
But then I made another and paid more carefully as to what I was doing and got the right pieces with the right sides.

Now to start figuring out on making bigger ones, I saw ones last night that where big shoulder bags, I think it will be fun to make all different sizes.

Bow Clutch

Still cant decide on what to make with the purple chevron fabric I have so I made something else today with other fabric that I have.  I have left over orange chevron print fabric.

It turned out pretty good for just winging it.

What to do next?

So I have this fabric and am trying to figure out what to make next.  Not sure if I should go for the regular bag that I have been making a lot or find something new to make with it.  And if I do make a bag I need to find me some different fabric for the lining.  What to do? what to do?

Few recent things

Here are a few of the most recent things I have made.

Welcome to my Blog.

I am a 31 year old mother of four, 3 boys and one very dramatic girl.  I love to sew, starting a project and finishing and seeing it all come together.  I have decided to start selling my pieces, mainly bags and purses, on Etsy.com  Store name is the same as Blog  Shannon the Bag Lady.  I enjoy making some clothes items as well, not that good at that yet.  Have made Halloween costumes for my sister-in-law as well as a few tops.
I have no formal training in sewing, I took a home economics class once in the 8th grade. The rest was my mom, who isn't a big fan of sewing but had a machine I used until I broke it trying to sew denim with, OOPS.  After I got married I decided to start it up again, even bought a book by Simplicity to help me figure out what it was I was doing.  Sadly I was so clueless about it all, and still am a little.  I didn't even have a clue what interfacing was and now I use it on everything.

I has been a very, very helpful book.  And I cant find in the book Google.  I love using Pinterest for getting ideas on what to sew.

My work area or "my office" is my living room, I use to sew in my bedroom but it just didn't work with having little ones.  Now out in my living room I can work while they are out here playing.
